Philadelphia, PA – Attorney Tiffany L. Palmer, a candidate for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in the May 21, 2019 primary election, has received the endorsement of the LGBTQ Victory Fund. The LGBTQ Victory Fund works to change the face and voice of America’s politics and achieve equality for LGBT Americans by increasing the number of openly LGBT elected officials at all levels of government.
“LGBTQ Victory Fund is pleased to endorse Tiffany Palmer for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia,” said Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund. “Tiffany has been a leader in her field for Philadelphia’s families, and understands that every decision impacts the lives of real people. When she wins in May 2019, she will become one of just a few openly LGBT judges in Pennsylvania, and will bring an important perspective to cases that come before the court.”
Tiffany has a long history of LGBT rights and family law experience and has a particular interest in improving Family Court. Twenty years ago, Tiffany founded the first LGBT family law direct services program in the nation, which was housed at a Philadelphia nonprofit. In 2003, Tiffany co-founded Jerner & Palmer P.C., a Philadelphia law firm with a focus on family law and estate planning. Since then, Tiffany’s practice has focused on family formation through adoption and assisted reproductive technology, as well as custody, support, and other aspects of family dissolution. She has also litigated contested parentage cases involving these issues, where she has argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court and Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Tiffany is a nationally recognized leader in the field. She is currently the Director of the Family Law Institute of the National LGBT Bar Association, a fellow of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. In 2018, Tiffany was the Honoree for the Mazzoni Center’s Justice in Action Luncheon. She also received the Mary Philbrook Public Interest Law Service Award from her alma mater, Rutgers Law School, in 2014.
Tiffany has also been rated as a “highly recommended” judicial candidate by the Philadelphia Bar Association.
